From Spreadsheets to Combat: Building the Proving Ground

Manor 21 now has the working foundation of a combat proving ground, designed to turn balance assumptions into repeatable encounters.

A controlled test raid

The current foundation includes close- and long-range attacks, defensive actions, hit reactions and enemies with different combat behaviours. A dedicated test raid makes it possible to check a sequence of encounters against thirty enemies under consistent conditions.

The number is not intended as a spectacle. Repeating the same setup helps us see what actually changed: whether a strike reads more clearly, an enemy falls into meaningless movement, a defence responds at the right moment, or the outcome reflects the chosen character development.

Scale without losing the individual hit

Our aim is to combine the scale of combat against many opponents with the physical clarity of a single blow. An enemy should not simply lose health; the player should understand why the hit landed, how an advantage was created and which mistake was made.

This is a working combat space rather than a finished game location. It exists to test the foundation that will later support full raids.
